CE marking

CE marking is the manufacturer's declaration that a product meets the applicable EU health, safety and environmental requirements and may be sold in the European Economic Area.

Where it appears in procurement

CE marking is not a certificate from an authority; it is backed by a technical file and an EU declaration of conformity, and in some product groups by a notified-body assessment.

Example

Electronics, toys and medical devices sold in the EU carry CE marking and must have the supporting declaration available on request.

In Complyra

CE marking is one of the regulations in Complyra's dataset; its page lists the documents to request and the product categories that trigger it.
