Product compliance

Product compliance is whether a specific product meets the legal and standard requirements of the market where it is sold: substance limits, safety, labelling, documentation.

Where it appears in procurement

Requirements depend on product category and destination. The same lamp needs different evidence for the EU, the US and Japan.

Example

A children's toy sold in the EU must meet EN 71 and carry CE marking with an EU declaration of conformity; the same toy sold in the US needs CPSIA testing and a Children's Product Certificate.

In Complyra

Complyra identifies the regulations that apply to a product from its category, materials and destination and checks it against the substance limits and document requirements in its dataset of 47 regulations.
