Compliance-first procurement

Supplier compliance and product compliance, checked before you buy

Complyra checks each product against the regulations that apply to it, lists the evidence the supplier must provide, and holds supplier certifications that an administrator has reviewed. The compliance result sits on the supplier match, and the required documents go into the RFQ.

How a product compliance check works

  1. Identify the regulations that apply

The product's category, materials and destination market are matched against each regulation's trigger categories and keywords. Only regulations that apply are checked.

  2. Check materials and substance limits

Where a regulation restricts substances or materials, the product's declared composition is compared with the limits recorded in the dataset (for example BPA or lead limits in food-contact plastics, or restricted substances under RoHS and REACH).

  3. List the required evidence

Each applicable regulation carries the documents a supplier must provide: declarations of conformity, test reports, certificates, safety data sheets, traceability records.

  4. Report pass, partial or fail

The result is shown on the supplier match with a confidence level and the specific gaps, so the buyer knows what to ask for before sending the RFQ.

Complyra checks product and supplier information against regulatory requirements to support procurement decisions. It does not issue certifications or guarantee legal compliance; final responsibility for compliance remains with the buyer and supplier.

Supplier certifications and compliance evidence

  • Certification upload

Suppliers upload certificates and reports with certificate number, issuing organisation, issue and expiry dates. Document intelligence helps extract those fields for review.

  • Administrator review

Each supplier application and its documents are reviewed and approved or rejected by a Complyra administrator. Only approved suppliers can receive RFQs.

    Verification process
  • Expiry tracking

Document status and expiry are tracked after approval, so a certificate that has lapsed is visible to buyers and administrators.

  • Evidence in the RFQ

The documents required by the applicable regulations are written into the RFQ so suppliers are asked for them before quoting.

    RFQ automation

Compliance-first procurement

Compliance problems are cheapest to fix before the order is placed. Complyra's workflow is built around that: the check runs during sourcing, the result is visible on the shortlist, the evidence is requested in the RFQ, and the supplier's documents are on file when the purchase order is issued.

See supplier sourcing for how compliant suppliers are found and matched, and the AI procurement platform for the workflow end to end.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between product compliance and supplier compliance?

Product compliance is whether a specific product meets the regulations of its destination market. Supplier compliance is whether the supplier can evidence that: valid certifications, test reports and declarations. Complyra checks both: the product against the regulation dataset, and the supplier's uploaded documents through administrator review.

Which regulations are covered?

47 regulations and standards, listed on the Regulations page, including EU food-contact and chemical rules, RoHS, REACH, CE marking, EN 71, FDA rules, CPSC, California Proposition 65, China, Japan, Korea, India and Taiwan product rules, and management standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.

Does Complyra certify compliance?

No. Complyra checks information against recorded requirements and tells you what evidence to obtain. Certification is issued by the relevant bodies and legal responsibility stays with the buyer and supplier.

How are supplier certifications handled?

Suppliers upload certificates with certificate numbers, issuing organisation and dates. An administrator reviews them; the platform tracks status and flags expiry so an expired document is visible to the buyer.

Can compliance requirements go into the RFQ?

Yes. The documents identified by the check are written into the RFQ, so suppliers are asked for the right evidence up front.
