Supplier matching
Supplier matching is the step that pairs a requirement with suppliers whose capabilities, categories, regions and listed products fit it.
Where it appears in procurement
Matching narrows the pool before ranking. Good matching uses structured fields from the requirement rather than a keyword search.
Example
A requirement for ISO 13485 medical trays delivered in the EU matches suppliers in the medical category serving the EU with that certificate on file.
