Supplier shortlist
A supplier shortlist is the small set of matched, qualified suppliers a buyer invites to quote.
Where it appears in procurement
Three to five suppliers is typical: enough for competition, few enough to evaluate properly.
Example
From twelve matches a buyer shortlists four with passing compliance results and current documents, and sends them one multi-supplier RFQ.
