Certificate of conformity
A certificate of conformity is issued by a third party, such as a notified body or accredited laboratory, attesting that a product or system meets a stated standard.
Where it appears in procurement
Certificates carry a number, an issuing organisation and an expiry date. All three should be checked; a certificate without them is a weak piece of evidence.
Example
An ISO 13485 certificate issued by an accredited certification body with a certificate number and a three-year validity.
In Complyra
Suppliers upload certificates with certificate number, issuing organisation, issue and expiry dates; administrators review them and the platform tracks expiry.
