Supplier qualification
Supplier qualification is the process of confirming that a supplier meets a buyer's requirements before it is allowed to quote or supply: legal status, capabilities, certifications, compliance evidence and capacity.
Where it appears in procurement
Qualification happens before the RFQ. It prevents spending sourcing effort on suppliers that cannot deliver compliant goods.
Example
A supplier of medical trays is asked for its business registration, ISO 13485 certificate with expiry date, and evidence of EU MDR documentation before it can receive an RFQ.
In Complyra
On Complyra a supplier registers, submits company details and certifications, and is reviewed by an administrator. Only approved suppliers can be matched and invited to RFQs.
